These seeds were saved from the thriving perennial green onions in Mantis Planting owner Nisha Maxwell's garden located in the California high desert of Joshua Tree. These are the classic scallion bulbless green onions used for garnishes and in stirfries across cuisines. They love extremely hot summers of 100 degrees and over and do not mind cold winters. Having them in the kitchen garden is a super low maintenance way to add continual flavor and spice to all your cooking!

To plant, sow the seeds in well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny location. Space the seeds 1/2 inch apart. When the seedlings reach about 4 inches tall, thin them to stand 2-3 inches apart. Harvest the green bunching onions when they reach the desired size, typically 60-90 days from planting. Use the whole plant, from stem to the leafy greens, in salads, stir-fries, soups, and more for a fresh, homegrown flavor in your meals!
